Asikkala Outdoor is a outdoor adventure company based in Asikkala, Finland. Specializing in guided outdoor activities and experiences. Our mission is to bring joy, create memorable moments, and provide guests of all skill levels with positive and empowering encounters in nature.
We organize a wide range of events and excursions, both in forest environments and on the water. Our services include guided kayaking tours for beginners and more experienced paddlers (3‑hour trips, full‑day outings, and overnight adventures) as well as kayaking courses.
In addition, we offer guided forest excursions that are well suited for company wellbeing days, group outings, or larger travel groups. During these trips, participants can enjoy the tranquility of the forest while coffee brews over an open fire and a traditional salmon soup simmers. Activities such as escape‑style challenges and team games can be included to strengthen group spirit. The duration of each excursion can be customized from a few hours to an overnight stay, and all experiences can also be provided in English.
We offer flexible add‑on services, including equipment rental for overnight trips, meal arrangements, and alternative starting locations upon request. Excursions can take place in beautiful surroundings, such as the campfire shelter at Aurinkovuori or Pasolanvuori in Asikkala, or in the forest areas of Evo.
Asikkala Outdoor has also organized overnight forest experiences for events such as the national “Dream Sports Day,” where participants gathered around the campfire to enjoy traditional treats and spend the night immersed in nature.

Safety and cancellation policy
All kayaking trips are carried out with a safety‑first approach. Weather conditions may occasionally prevent a safe trip from taking place. In such cases, the trip may be cancelled or rescheduled without any cancellation fee, and the customer will receive a full refund. Rain alone does not prevent safe paddling.
If the customer cancels, the cancellation must be submitted in writing by email to siru.virlander@asikkalaoutdoor.fi. The cancellation date is determined by the day the message is received.
Cancellation terms:
- 26 days or more before the trip: no cancellation fee
- 11–25 days before the trip: 25% of the trip price
- 10 days or less before the trip: 100% of the trip price
A detailed safety plan is created for every trip, addressing potential risks and outlining the correct procedures for handling them. Many possible issues can be prevented in advance through careful planning.
Before each excursion, we review current weather conditions and forecasts to plan the activity accordingly. We always move at a pace and difficulty level that suits the group’s skills.
All guides hold first aid training, and we carry appropriate first aid and rescue equipment on every trip. Rescue points and procedures are planned in advance.
All guides have first aid training. The company’s main guide is a certified nature guide and kayaking instructor with First Aid 1 and First Aid 2 certifications.
